How To Live A Full Life With Large Amounts Of Debts?

By Edwood Woodward

Desire is a trait that distinguishes man from other species. Being social animals, our wants are not limited to survival only, we desire home, we desire comforts, and we desire luxuries. Fulfilment of these yearnings is not free of cost. Most of the time this cost is more than what we can afford. Our income and assets, at times cannot realise the price of our wants.

This is in no way a criticism. It is not just for the sake of own self that a person tends to go beyond his/her means. It is because as adults we are fraught with limitless responsibilities. College funds, mortgages, and car lease, are just a few examples of how and why we have to go beyond our resources.

The modern financial tools, credit cards, car and home financing etc. have made it convenient to spend without having money in pocket, or in the bank account. Today, man tends to live a debt-ridden life, which compels him to work harder and for longer hours. The pace of life is reaching the speed of light.

All the while, what is being ignored is the quality of life. One cannot define and determine the quality of life by the make and model of the car, or the number of bedrooms in a house. It is directly reflected in the satisfaction one derives from a life well spent with his/her loved ones.

It is most important that your liabilities and debts should not keep you away from living a life full of fun. This is most essential that you find time to relax and enjoy in bust schedule of your life. No one wants to keep you away from your responsibilities, but it is also important to allocate some moments of your daytime in enjoyable activities, and thoughts that are not related to your liabilities.

Just for one hour each day, read a good book or magazine, play with your children or just go out on a romantic stroll with your better half. For just that hour, forget your debts and responsibilities. That one hour will ensure at the end of the day that your day no matter how gruelling and tiring, it was well lived.

It will be nice to plan at least one picnic a month, a beautiful natural walk, or just a visit to a caf for a cup of coffee with your loved ones. These are comparatively inexpensive, but highly enjoyable activities. While spending your leisure time with family, try to stay away from thoughts of economic burdens.

Take a holiday at least once a year. During your holiday, you must do what you are interested in. One must try to accept the reality that such liabilities are part of life. These debts are inevitable. Make sure that the debt burden should not keep you away from enjoying, and living your life to the fullest. - 31377
